Sun Salutation

asset(187).png

I feel the ecstasy of the moment taking over my every thought, the lightness of my breath ascending me to a higher place, a deeper version of myself. Liberating temptation, I surrender to this moment and this moment alone. As I free my spirit, I feel the birth of life take over. Creeping shadows of the past lose control over the mobility of my body, as I become a pure stream of flowing water. Dripping, lucid…an endless swim into the arms of dreams long left unexplored. Dream upon dream, I travel with open wings like an eagle soaring above myself before I awaken. Lest I forget the magic of this moment, I capture my heart’s images like scenes from a movie. Memory pouring onto the canvas of my mind, I recollect it all through art. Motion, emotion one after the other. Meeting a laugh or cry halfway. I no longer pretend to forget…remember it all I do. In the falling abyss of time, I dress fragments with color. With music, I bless it all with sound. Gratitude…the good and bad all an equal tell of sharing. Now do I understand the teaching of it all…it finally makes sense in the twists and turns of my mind. I am finally climbing, upstream. Up and higher do I race past all obstacles. High on high do I comprehend the messages I saw in signs. Symbols in trees, painted in caves long lost mountains ancestors still sing the same song over and over again. I hear the pounding beat of the drum…incense still burning the air with truth. Footsteps echo in my toes, I feel the dance lifting the idleness of my present step. Free at last. I move, move to the call of my own self. Gentle at first…one push at a time, speaking solely to myself…wake…wake…WAKE UP! A mirror assists my voice, showing me parts of me…some I recognise…some I do, truly do…with blurry vision my eyes squint. I see you. I know you. I am you. This is me, full and new. Oh, how I’ve grown. Pride, I am proud. But more much more than this humble. My head tilting a fair share of sky and land…I know who I am…I know…who I am.

Life is Life

©Nicoletta

Today, we lost one of my favorite people in the world, Mrs. Clementa. The sky was even crying for her loss today. She was a power house, raising 9 children on her own and working multiple jobs never for herself but all for those children. She could even scare the devil away, that woman was afraid of nothing. She peacefully left the world today and her memories remain with us, stories we shall keep forever in our hearts. This poem is dedicated to her and to all lives, which are so wonderfully precious. Cheers to our life then, let us live and keep on living.

Be True, You.

“I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.”  ~Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón

The most powerful person you can be is yourself. But getting to know yourself and more important learning to LOVE yourself takes time and patience.

As you fully appreciate who you are, that is when you are free to be no one else but you. When you have achieved self empowerment, that is when other people’s judgements and opinions (which stem from their own insecurities) have no effect over you.

Mastering the ability to own your power will keep you confident and centered through all life’s seeming obstacles.

You are powerful• More powerful• Full of power• Power is you.

Taste of a Perfect Storm

img_0348

My soul cried out remember,
My mind pounding in thought
The crashing waves
Drew closer
In time for a perfect storm.
In the rolling waters
I lost myself,
Bit by bit a little more.
And as the faintest light
Touched the corner of my eye,
I breathed a sigh of the ocean
Into every part of me.

Face of the Sun

asset142-png

I felt her roots firmly ground me,

Morning dew

Washing the pain away.

She shied her power

With a humble smile at the Sun.

The light on her face

Healing forests afar,

A single seed of hers

Greeting seven generations to come.

The Golden Lady

Without a whimper
He told her “I’m sorry”.
She looked up at him in doubt,
Too good to be true fairytales
Not her cup of tea.
You see,
SHE was the prince of Her Story.

Sex Expressed Like This…

asset356

In this time and age where values have been cheapened, gifts of literature, music and art tampered with by the effects of “pop” culture, we have each lost a little bit of our soul.

You might ask what is to blame?

Sex. As simple as a three-lettered word. Our relationship to our sexuality is one of the many things that has thrown us off balance. The way media/ famous celebrities/ subliminal messages in movies and music project sexuality undermines the truth to what sexuality is. What is presented to us can even be termed as “pseudo-sexuality” which pollutes and contaminates the mass through the projection of false meaning.

The expression of sexuality is more than what is shown on the surface. It is not the idolisation of the body, or the use of it for popularity, control or manipulation. There is far more depth to how it can be expressed. The fact is, we have lost touch with ourselves and this has resulted in the disconnection with the true source of our sexual power.

What is sex then?

Sex is creation. It is easy to take your clothes off and get it over and done with for momentary pleasure, but is far different to fully embody it, to allow it to become you, transform you.
Sexual expression is not only an act between the sheets but a way of living. When activated it can become a bridge of the divine to the material, spirit to matter. The problem is we are afraid of our own power. This results in holding back, not giving our fullest potential in all areas of our life: work/ relationships with our loved ones and own selves/ the creative endeavours we pursue. The reason we shy away from our own power is because we have been given a false identification of what sexuality is and how we can get in touch with it.

The poison of the past

Thousands of years, centuries of programming by organised orders of religion have made sexual expression seem wrong. The act itself was viewed as a sin, and only a means of procreation. The original sin of Adam and Eve, supposedly condemned us all, confining us to the hellish reality of pain, suffering and death. In addition to this women were raped, killed, stoned under the false accusation of being prostitutes, all subconsciously triggered by the idea of original sin. Men and women were separated in the battle of gender, role playing in a twisted fate of oppressor and victim. This breeding of religion, led to the Victorian age where sexuality was suppressed altogether, propriety and conservatism paving way to a society which hushed a basic need of nature. All this and so much more…Led to the present day. We have soaked this line of history, it is a part of our DNA, in our blood and genetics. This fear, oppression, suppression, victimisation, conditioning has scarred us with wounds very challenging to heal.

How can I awaken my true sexual nature?

In the Dharma religions, the awakening of the “kundalini” is what can help one come into touch with their sexual truth. This is the meditative state of raising energetic vibration from the spinal chakras to the upper chakras in the body, through the combination of breath, chanting and movement. Practices such as kundalini yoga can assist in the unlocking of this hidden power within us all. This is how one attains spiritual enlightenment.
In more physical terms, one can “lighten” themselves allowing them to tap into the flow of creative energy by pursuing things that they love and that are close to their heart. Performing arts, dancing, singing, playing an instrument, creativity in any shape or form is highly recommended as it allows one to centre themselves in the moment and freely open up to self-expression. The key is to let go and surrender to the flow of the moment instead of trying to control it or overthink it.

What does all this have to do with sex again?

One’s relationship with their sexuality is the core of their power. As one lightens their load of burdens, imposed on him/her by society or self-created restrictions, this gives them the freedom to surrender in their more intimate relationships. The union of lovers is to be a “performing act” in itself, an exchange of beauty and full expression. The innocence and purity of play and joy, allows the act itself to become sacred as it links one with the heart. In truth, the more one is confident with oneself, the more the exchange of sexual union will bring higher levels of intimacy between a couple.

sexuality is the soulful expression of play and freedom…

It is the interaction with one’s most boundless, limitless nature. The more liberation, the higher one can transform into a whole person. A healthy practice of sexuality is highly beneficial as it stimulates the mind and emotions, bringing nourishment to both body and spirit.
Needless to say, the misuse of sexuality through perverse, ill abuses causes severe damage to one’s mental, emotional, physical and spiritual state.

Keep healthy and powerful!

A very good example of an artist who was highly connected to his sexual power was Elvis Presley. This man was a legend, as he projected this divine sexual expression through his music, dance and personality, influencing crowds of people through his work, even to this day. This is the perfect example of a healthy, balanced sexual power expressed in a positive way.

Each one of us, in our own way can achieve this divine union ourselves through the healing of the cobwebs of the past and the full emancipation of the hidden depths of the self.

Sacred Woman

asset121-png

She was ancient like the stars above her golden crown.
In her eyes all was known
Past
       Present
                    Future.
In her womb the secrets of the world
Birthed
All creation.

Finding the Balance

img_0785

In this world of polarity, we have allowed archetype to define who we are:

The saint—>The sinner
The good—> The bad
The light—>The dark
We choose to become these polar opposites as we invite them into our personalities. In this sense we are dualistic as we are one or the other, never finding the middle way.
You might ask what is the problem with choosing sides?

~Too much, too little~

The fact is, if we take one extreme and wholeheartedly follow it, that keeps us in a constant battle. Rather than being able to discover our higher nature, we are constantly drawn to one extreme as opposed to the other. This in effect influences our thoughts, decisions, and how we interact with the greater world.
“Oh no, that’s way too dark for me.”
There are several people who are afraid to see the dark. It is a fact that we are in a world where evil is present. That is not to say one is to focus on the evil, but rather be aware of its presence. Instead of hushing it away and covering it up with butterflies, it is a given truth that in the reality we are currently living in, there is a lot of pain and suffering amongst us.
On the extreme end, some have chosen to play the role of the harm-doer. Yet on the other extreme, others are in complete opposition to “the dark” that they shy away from their own shadows.
“It is all light to me.”
This is all good and merry. I was also among those to use the term light-worker and believed it defined me. Causing no harm, bringing good to others through kindness and appreciation are some ways in how one works with “the light”. However, at the extreme of completely associating oneself with the light, one can get caught up in self-perpetuated illusions and delusions where they think they are something pure and faultless. In the 3D world where we live and breathe, each and every one of us has a human ego. This ego can be quietened, however will always be present. In this sense, one may trick themselves into believing they are “all light”, yet forget that within them consists both yin and yang.

~We are Dual by Nature~

Our DNA is dual by nature, within us are both male and female aspects. We are both yin and yang, light and dark. In this sense, one can say we are not either or but both sides of the coin. When we understand this higher truth, we are freed from the chains and burdens of our own doing. Years, centuries, lifetimes of conditioning where one thought they had to choose a side, is understood to be a mere illusion. Instead, one can open up to realising their full potential as an ever-evolving being of neither light or dark, good or bad but The All.
The acceptance of The All is what truly grants you balance and allows you to transcend all confinements and restraints that you have created.
~You have the right to be reborn~

Rebirth is a matter of letting go of all things you believe to be true about yourself and others. It is a state of no-thingness where one allows themselves to BE rather than become. Instead of wanting to relate to a certain archetype, to be overshadowed by a concept or thought, to allow something to define you, rebirth breaks away from all restrictions.

Picture a bird in a cage. The bird has never known how fresh air feels, how it feels like flying in an open sky. The bird believes the cage is its reality. That this is what defines it. Waking up to bars, water, food and a casual song are the patterns it has taken upon itself. If one frees the bird, in the beginning it will be challenging for it to accept all the freedom it has been given as all power is now in its hands.
This analogy is relatable to the human condition. We have been programmed (by both ourselves and others) to feel like that bird in the cage. We believe ourselves to be less powerful, less capable, than we actually are. If we were told, you are neither black or white, neither good or bad, male or female, we cannot accept this as truth as we have been conditioned to believe everything exists in dual form. The acceptance of this truth provides us with so much freedom and potential that it is instantly rejected. Rather than accepting the ability to become the leaders of our lives, we prefer to conform to a limited understanding of who we are.
Rebirth throws us into the deep end, giving us no choice but to rise above ourselves.

~Your choice~

Not to worry, no one will forcefully push you into the deep end.
The decision is yours and yours alone. You alone can choose to break away from all restrictions. You alone can heal yourself from all limitations, You alone hold the key that will unlock the cage. You alone can grant the bird the freedom to explore the open sky.
You alone can be reborn.
