In this world of polarity, we have allowed archetype to define who we are:
The saint—>The sinner
The good—> The bad
The light—>The dark
We choose to become these polar opposites as we invite them into our personalities. In this sense we are dualistic as we are one or the other, never finding the middle way.
You might ask what is the problem with choosing sides?
~Too much, too little~
The fact is, if we take one extreme and wholeheartedly follow it, that keeps us in a constant battle. Rather than being able to discover our higher nature, we are constantly drawn to one extreme as opposed to the other. This in effect influences our thoughts, decisions, and how we interact with the greater world.
“Oh no, that’s way too dark for me.”
There are several people who are afraid to see the dark. It is a fact that we are in a world where evil is present. That is not to say one is to focus on the evil, but rather be aware of its presence. Instead of hushing it away and covering it up with butterflies, it is a given truth that in the reality we are currently living in, there is a lot of pain and suffering amongst us.
On the extreme end, some have chosen to play the role of the harm-doer. Yet on the other extreme, others are in complete opposition to “the dark” that they shy away from their own shadows.
“It is all light to me.”
This is all good and merry. I was also among those to use the term light-worker and believed it defined me. Causing no harm, bringing good to others through kindness and appreciation are some ways in how one works with “the light”. However, at the extreme of completely associating oneself with the light, one can get caught up in self-perpetuated illusions and delusions where they think they are something pure and faultless. In the 3D world where we live and breathe, each and every one of us has a human ego. This ego can be quietened, however will always be present. In this sense, one may trick themselves into believing they are “all light”, yet forget that within them consists both yin and yang.
~We are Dual by Nature~
Our DNA is dual by nature, within us are both male and female aspects. We are both yin and yang, light and dark. In this sense, one can say we are not either or but both sides of the coin. When we understand this higher truth, we are freed from the chains and burdens of our own doing. Years, centuries, lifetimes of conditioning where one thought they had to choose a side, is understood to be a mere illusion. Instead, one can open up to realising their full potential as an ever-evolving being of neither light or dark, good or bad but The All.
The acceptance of The All is what truly grants you balance and allows you to transcend all confinements and restraints that you have created.
~You have the right to be reborn~
Rebirth is a matter of letting go of all things you believe to be true about yourself and others. It is a state of no-thingness where one allows themselves to BE rather than become. Instead of wanting to relate to a certain archetype, to be overshadowed by a concept or thought, to allow something to define you, rebirth breaks away from all restrictions.
Picture a bird in a cage. The bird has never known how fresh air feels, how it feels like flying in an open sky. The bird believes the cage is its reality. That this is what defines it. Waking up to bars, water, food and a casual song are the patterns it has taken upon itself. If one frees the bird, in the beginning it will be challenging for it to accept all the freedom it has been given as all power is now in its hands.
This analogy is relatable to the human condition. We have been programmed (by both ourselves and others) to feel like that bird in the cage. We believe ourselves to be less powerful, less capable, than we actually are. If we were told, you are neither black or white, neither good or bad, male or female, we cannot accept this as truth as we have been conditioned to believe everything exists in dual form. The acceptance of this truth provides us with so much freedom and potential that it is instantly rejected. Rather than accepting the ability to become the leaders of our lives, we prefer to conform to a limited understanding of who we are.
Rebirth throws us into the deep end, giving us no choice but to rise above ourselves.
Not to worry, no one will forcefully push you into the deep end.
The decision is yours and yours alone. You alone can choose to break away from all restrictions. You alone can heal yourself from all limitations, You alone hold the key that will unlock the cage. You alone can grant the bird the freedom to explore the open sky.
You alone can be reborn.
